Key Responsibilities

  1. Research & Analysis
    • Conduct comprehensive research and prepare detailed reports on competition-related matters.
    • Provide expert advice on economic and policy research to support the Commission’s goals.
    • Develop frameworks for analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
    • Analyze data from both micro and macroeconomic perspectives to inform policy formulation.
  2. Collaboration
    • Work with internal departments like Legal, Advocacy, and Enforcement to provide data-driven research for decision-making.
    • Engage with external stakeholders, including government bodies and international organizations, to facilitate collaborative research efforts.
  3. Leadership & Mentorship
    • Lead and mentor a team of research analysts, guiding them on methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
    • Assign research tasks and manage project timelines to ensure the effective execution of the Commission’s research agenda.
  4. Policy Development
    • Oversee the creation of academic research papers, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
    • Conduct background research to support competition policy strategies and development.

Professional Requirements

  1. Educational Qualifications
    • Ph.D. in Economics, Law, Statistics, or a Business-related discipline from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university.
  2. Experience
    • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in research and analysis, with leadership experience in a research institution.
    • Proven track record of research publications in reputable journals or conferences will be advantageous.
  3. Skills
    • Expertise in managing large datasets and performing quantitative analysis.
    • Proficiency in research tools and statistical software.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Familiarity with competition-related matters in Pakistan and the ability to place them in a comparative framework.
  4. Age Limit
    • Maximum age for the position is 50 years, with general age relaxation as per government rules.

Remuneration

The Commission offers a competitive salary package commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and overall experience.

General Terms and Conditions

  • The appointment will be on a contract basis for two years, extendable based on performance.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the test/interview process.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for the test/interview.
  • The Commission reserves the right to accept or reject any applications.
