Applications are invited for the 64th Batch of Cadets in Nautical (Deck) and Marine Engineering branches at Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA), Karachi.

Eligibility Criteria
- Gender & Nationality: Only unmarried male citizens of Pakistan are eligible to apply.
- Age Limit:
- General candidates: Maximum 20 years as of 31 December 2025.
- Candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan: Maximum age limit is 21 years (one-year relaxation).
Academic Qualification
- Minimum Requirement:
- F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) or A-Level (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) with at least 55% marks.
- For A-Level or O-Level Candidates: An IBCC equivalence certificate must be submitted with the application.
- Result Awaiting Candidates:
- Those appearing in F.Sc Part-II or A-Level may apply if they secured minimum 60% marks in Part-I and provide a Hope Certificate from their college/institute.
- Failure to achieve the required 55% marks in F.Sc Part-II will result in disqualification, regardless of earlier selection.
How to Apply
- Download the prospectus and application form from www.marineacademy.edu.pk or collect it from PMA’s Admission Office.
- Submit the completed application via courier, along with:
- Pay order/bank draft of Rs. 4,000/- (in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi) payable at NBP PMA Branch (Code-0239).
- Applications must be sent to Officer In-charge Admissions, Pakistan Marine Academy, Hawksbay Road, Karachi-75780.
Selection Procedure
- Entrance Test:
- Conducted by a recognized testing agency at multiple centers: Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, and Sukkur.
- Minimum 50% marks required to qualify.
- Medical Examination:
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo medical assessment at designated Army/Navy hospitals.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Interview:
- Conducted only for medically fit candidates. PET standards include:
- Running (1 mile / 1.6 km): 8 minutes
- Push-ups: 15 repetitions (2 minutes)
- Sit-ups: 15 repetitions (2 minutes)
- Chin-ups: 2 repetitions (2 minutes)
- Conducted only for medically fit candidates. PET standards include:
- Final Selection:
- Based on F.Sc marks, entry test, medical fitness, PET, and interview performance.
Education & Training
- Duration: 2 years of residential training at PMA.
- Degrees & Certifications:
- Associate Degree in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering, awarded by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
- Internationally recognized IMO (International Maritime Organization) Pre-Sea Mandatory Certificates.
Scholarships
33 need-based scholarships (sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs) are distributed as:
- Balochistan: 15
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6
- Punjab: 6
- Sindh: 6
Ineligibility Conditions
- Submission of forged or tampered academic certificates/documents.
- Concealment of facts or incomplete application forms.
- Candidates withdrawn from any military or training institution due to misconduct or poor performance.
- Persons dismissed or debarred from government service (including Armed Forces).
- Criminal convictions or moral turpitude offenses.
- Holders of DAE diplomas or those with subject combinations other than Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Declared medically unfit or color-blind by Armed Forces medical boards.
