Permanent Commission (PC) Courses
1. 160 General Duty Pilot (GD(P))
- Age: 16 – 22 years (as of 15 April 2026)
- Gender: Male/Female (Unmarried)
- Height: Minimum 5’4’’ / 163 cm
- Vision: 6/6 in each eye (without glasses)
- Qualification: At least 65% marks in F.Sc (Pre-Engineering/Pre-Medical/ICS) or A’ Levels (Physics, Maths, Computer Science/Biology). Candidates with DAE in relevant technologies (Avionics, Electronics, Mechanical, Telecommunication, Software, etc.) may also apply.
- Training: 4 years leading to a BS in Aviation Management or BE in Aerospace/Avionics (from CAE).
2. 106 Aeronautical Engineering Course
- Age: 16 – 22 years
- Gender: Male/Female (Unmarried)
- Height: Male 5’4’’ / 163 cm, Female 4’10’’ / 147 cm
- Qualification: Minimum 65% in F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) or A’ Levels (Physics, Chemistry, Maths). Candidates with DAE in technical disciplines are also eligible.
- Training: 4 years leading to a BE in Aerospace/Avionics Engineering.
3. 116 Air Defence Course
- Age: 16 – 22 years
- Gender: Male (Unmarried)
- Height: 5’4’’ / 163 cm
- Qualification: Minimum 65% in F.Sc (Pre-Medical/Pre-Engineering/Computer Science) or A’ Levels with Physics, Maths, and Computer Science/Biology. DAE holders in relevant technologies may apply.
- Training: 4 years with the award of a BS/BE degree in Aviation and Defence Studies.
Short Service Commission (SSC / SPSSC)
1. 05 GD(P) Supplementary Course
- Age: 21 – 24 years
- Gender: Male (Unmarried)
- Height: 5’4’’ / 163 cm
- Rank: Flying Officer
- Qualification: BS/BE in Sciences, Engineering, IT, AI, Finance, Statistics, MBBS/BDS, or equivalent with minimum 60% or 2.5/4 CGPA from an HEC recognized university.
- Training: 2 years
2. Education Branch (136 CSC SPSSC/SSC)
- Age: 20 – 29 years
- Gender: Male/Female (Married/Unmarried)
- Rank: Flying Officer
- Qualification: MS/MPhil in Mathematics, IR, AI, Statistics, or MBA/MS in Management Sciences. Minimum 65% or 2.7/4 CGPA.
- Training: 24 weeks
3. IT Branch (136 CSC SSC)
- Age: 20 – 26 years
- Gender: Male (Married/Unmarried)
- Rank: Flying Officer
- Qualification: BS/MS/BE in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Big Data, or related emerging fields. Minimum 65% or 2.7/4 CGPA.
- Training: 24 weeks
4. Legal Branch (136 CSC SSC)
- Age: 20 – 30 years
- Gender: Male (Married/Unmarried)
- Rank: Flying Officer
- Qualification: LLB with 65% marks or 2.7/4 CGPA. Preference for LLM degree holders and candidates with 2 years’ law practice experience.
- Training: 24 weeks
Selection Procedure
- Online Registration at www.joinpaf.gov.pk
- Initial Tests (intelligence + academic) conducted through e-Testing (subjects depend on entry category).
- Medical Examination & Interviews at PAF Selection Centers.
- Physical Fitness Test:
- 1 mile run in 8 minutes
- 15 push-ups in 2 minutes
- 20 sit-ups in 2 minutes
- 3 chin-ups in 2 minutes
- ISSB Tests/Interview (for shortlisted candidates).
- Final Medical Examination at CMB Lahore.
- Final Selection at Air Headquarters based on merit.
Important Notes
- Candidates awaiting results may also apply if they have secured at least 70% in Part-I (F.Sc/A’ Levels).
- Equivalence certificates from IBCC are required for A’ Levels/foreign qualifications.
- All candidates must have a valid NADRA Smart Card.
- Training and posting will be in accordance with PAF service requirements.
